Competition for the design of a new student house at the University of Warsaw

The concept of a modern dormitory for 300 people located in Służew district. It was awarded the 2nd prize in the SARP competition.

The dormitory as a place of meetings, life and work needs a zone for establishing relationships - a space for informal gatherings. In our concept, we created an internal street that goes steplike along the facade of the courtyard and sets the centre of the building where various forms of activity converge. It is open to an entrance hall with patios on the ground floor level with a common room, a gym and a café. The building has a modular layout. Different types of rooms provide flexibility in shaping the structure of the object. For better use of living spaces, beds are placed along the facade, assuming that life also happens on the bed, where you can study, read and relax. Part of the window is extended outwards and has a wide window sill located at the height of the bed so it can also serve as a spot for sitting.
