The classrooms are designed as small houses connected by a clear network of streets and squares, each opening up to courtyards filled with greenery. This lively space is not only active during school hours but also beyond, serving as a creative and cultural hub for both students and the local community. We aim to distinctly separate the area that, after school hours, transforms into a set of spaces open to the needs of nearby residents.
The school’s architectural form consists of two wings filled with classrooms and additional structures housing gymnasiums, a dining hall, and administrative offices on the upper floor. Each upstairs classroom is covered with a single-pitched roof, with the roofs gently undulating as they connect. The overlapping plans and varied heights of the buildings reflect our interpretation of the atmosphere of this place—its vibrancy, the energy of interiors full of children and learning. The composition culminates in the tallest roof over the auditorium, which serves as the main square of the school.
Five green courtyards interweave with different sections of the building, allowing nature and its ever-changing character to accompany school life at every step. The division into smaller, interconnected zones with meeting spaces during breaks may help reduce noise and foster social relationships among children. Circulation areas are closely linked to views of greenery and courtyards, with the central area embracing the main courtyard, an extension of the auditorium. Featuring terraces and seating areas, this space becomes an additional place for integration and recreation.
