Competition for the Monument in honour of Poles saving Jews during the occupation.

The key feature of the monument concept in honour of Poles saving Jews during the occupation, the place determining its character is the area where thousands of individual and institutional heroes, their names and deeds  are commemorated. The highlighting of the place, its presence in the urban space, the act of discovering, of getting gradually into the successive information layers are most important here. The symbolism of the design and means of expression are governed by this assumption. What plays a major role is the use of the existing arcade – witness of history – giving it a new meaning, symbolism, different from its expression thus far.
