Falata

The building is situated on a narrow plot at the corner of Fałata and Akacjowa Streets in the Stary Mokotów district, in the immediate vicinity of a popular and highly recognised project of the interwar period – the Szare Domy (or Grey Homes) housing complex. The rectangular brick and plastered solids, intersected by a central glazed staircase, enclose the courtyard of the prewar estate to the south. The reserved style of the architecture is an attempt at a dialogue with the adjacent development. The expression of the southern and western facades is determined by large horizontal glazing of balcony windows and by juxtaposition of textures and materials: wood, plaster and grey brick. The building accommodates 10 apartments of different sizes and an underground garage. The roof was designed as terraces to the penthouse apartments.
